Actolind ^® w Gel is a protective moisturizing and nourishing gel used in conjunction with medical devices such as bandages, wound dressings, pads and wound fillers for acute or chronic wounds and first and second degree burns.

Thanks to its unique combination of ingredients, Actolind ^® w Gel forms a thin protective film layer on the applied area, which contributes to wound healing by preventing the adhesion of microorganisms and keeping the wound surface clean and constantly moist. Actolind® w Gel fills the space between the dressing and the wound surface and minimizes the adhesion of the dressing to the wound surface by preventing drying out. Actolind® w Gel therefore helps to shorten the healing process by keeping the wound stable.

This product is a Class III medical device according to the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC with the amendments 2007/47/EC.

Instructions for use

Application areas:

• Infected or uninfected acute wounds (e.g. traumatic wounds caused by cuts, tears, abrasions, contusions, bite wounds, puncture wounds, etc. or surgical wounds),
• Infected or uninfected chronic wounds (e.g. diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure sores (pressure sores), etc.),
• Infected or uninfected thermal or chemical wounds (e.g. first and second degree burns, chemical burns, etc.),
• wounds caused by electric current,
• radiation wounds,
• Entry regions of urological catheters,
• Care of peristomeal skin, fistulas and abscesses,
• Suitable for care, moisturizing and covering the wound surface with a protective layer before applying materials such as dressings, wound dressings, pads and wound fillers,
• To form a barrier between the wound and the dressing to prevent drying and sticking.

Actolind ^® w Gel can be used in combination with Actolind ^® w Solution . Before applying Actolind ^® w Gel, the wound should be cleaned with Actolind ^® w Solution to remove impurities and debris.

Actolind ^® w Gel does not inhibit granulation or epithelialization. It shows no irritating nor painful properties, does not cause sensitization and can be used safely for a long time.

At the same time, Actolind® w Gel protects against multi-resistant (e.g. MRSA, VRE) and mycotic pathogens and is also well tolerated by allergy sufferers and diabetics. The protective film layer formed by Actolind® w Gel can be easily removed from the wound surface the next time the dressing is changed. Actolind® w Solution is recommended for this purpose. This procedure should be repeated regularly to remove the dead tissue and crusts during the healing process. The ingredient polyhexanide has been clinically tested millions of times, is dermatologically harmless and is considered the first choice wound treatment agent.

Application:

Actolind ^® w Gel can be used directly on wounds as well as on bandages and gauzes. Materials such as bandages, gauzes, wipes, etc. should not be reused. The opened product should only be used on a single patient to reduce the risk of contamination.

Before using Actolind ^® w Gel , the wound should be cleaned with Actolind ^® w Solution to remove impurities and debris. For optimal wound cleaning, it is recommended to moisten the wound using a fully moistened compress (application of wet bandages) for at least 10-15 minutes. The cleaned wound should be covered with Actolind ^® w Gel and bandaged properly.

Actolind® w Gel should not be used continuously on the same wound for more than 30 days. For healthy wound healing, wound cleaning and care should be carried out at regular intervals.

Actolind ^® w Gel should not be used in the following cases:

1. It is not suitable for use on hyaline cartilage and after aseptic joint surgery, in the middle and inner ear and on the eye,
2. If the patient is known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients,
3. At the central nervous system or meninx,
4. Together with anionic surfactants, cleansing soaps, creams, oils, enzymes, etc. These substances should be completely removed from the wound surface before use.

Cleansing and moisturizing
Actolind® w Gel cleans and moisturizes the wound surface. It remains on the wound surface and prevents an acute wound from becoming a chronic wound due to drying out, contamination or exposure to air. It helps shorten the healing process by keeping the wound stable.

filling the wound
Actolind® w Gel protects the wound from external influences by forming a thin protective layer on the wound surface. It fills the gap between the wound surface and the wound dressing and thus increases the effectiveness of the dressing, but also prevents the dressing material from adhering to the wound.

Actolind® is suitable for the following wound types:
• Chronic wounds (diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, etc.)
• Thermal or chemical burns and injuries (1st and 2nd degree burns, chemical burns, etc.)
